Core Belief
We strongly believe each of us is unique and complete, and everyone should also live up to his irreplaceable value of life. If the growing process of self development is obstructed, it is necessary to recover the original life force by way of learning or healing. And learning is not only studying the theory, reflecting or listening to advices. What is more important is to experiment true self via experience and feeling, and to explore within more possibilities. Basing on the above, our foundation is focusing on those learning methods to explore within by means of experiments and expressions.
Developmental Journey
This organization has been set up out of our care and deep love
Towards a young man who passed away in the prime of his life. In 1987, young Shiuh-Li lost her life in a diving accident. In memory of this sincere, energetic, intelligent and courageous soul, her love ones, who were not prepared for her untimely death, decided to transform their love and memories of her into a different form. In August of the following year, based on the respect and reflection of life, a group of helping professionals established this foundation. In March of 1989, the Shiuh-Li Memorial Cultural and Educational Foundation was thus registered.
For more than 23 years, many famous therapeutic methods, masters in the field, and growing workshops have been introduced to Taiwan. This has helped many people to grow and lead to a deeper understanding of oneself. And, undoubtedly, it also has helped to broaden the views of the helping professionals. This foundation has continued to help people by way of counseling, for individual or enterprises, and training workshops for helping professionals. This is a non-profit organization. With the core beliefs in mind, we are devoted to grow and create more possibilities.
Since November 13, 2015, the name of our foundation has been revised to Shiuh-Li Foundation. This rename means a new era’s beginning – the sentimental and memorial meaning will fade away, nevertheless, it reaffirms our commitment to all:
THIS ORGANIZATION BELONGS TO EVERYBODY IN TAIWAN. IT HAS BEEN NURTURED BY TAIWAN SOCIETY AND ALL THE FRIENDS PARTICIPATING IN ITS ACTIVITIES. ITS GROWTH CAN BE EASILY TRACED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF TAIWAN SOCIETY. ITS APPEARANCE HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY EVOLVING WITH ALL ITS PARTNERS. NOW WITH ITS NEW NAME, WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO RECEIVING ALL THE ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT AS IT DID IN THE PAST.
